OUR SUCCESS STRATEGY

STEP ONE:

College Planning and Application Support

GHS helps students research college options, complete applications, and adhere to deadlines. Students attend the Chicago Scholars Onsite Admission Forum at Navy Pier in October to interview with college representatives and potentially receive onsite admission offers.

STEP TWO:

Counseling, Tutoring, and Mentoring

Students are paired with adult mentors from the Chicagoland area who are experienced in the college application process,

access to tutoring sessions through A+ Tutoring Services, Village Tutors, The Scholarship Man,

and counselors at College Bound Consulting.

 STEP THREE:

Chicago Scholars Onsite

Green Halo Scholars has partnered with Chicago Scholars to collectively impact high-potential, under-resourced students from the Greater Chicagoland area. Through this combined effort, our students gain access to Chicago Scholars’ resources and events, such as the Scholars College Fair, First Look Career Conference and Fair, and the Annual Onsite Admissions Forum.

STEP FOUR:

Exploring Financial Aid and Scholarships

GHS assists students in completing the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA)

for federal and state grants as well as private scholarship applications.

STEP FIVE:

Finalizing College Decisions and Success Planning

GHS assists students in finalizing financial aid appeals, and evaluate college decisions with mentors. Summer workshops are available to prepare students for the academic rigor of university and to enhance leadership skills.
