TESTIMONIALS

Being a part of Green Halo Scholars was the opportunity of a lifetime for me. Since my freshman year of high school, I’ve known what career field I wanted to go into but I never had any clue what college I wanted to attend. I’d always felt that college was so far away that I need not worry about it but before I knew it I was a senior and college was the only thing on my mind. At this point, I hadn’t yet started my college search but it seemed like my peers knew exactly where they wanted to go and what they wanted to do. The entire GHS staff saw how lost I was and put honest time and effort into helping me figure out which colleges were the best fit for me from an academic and environmental perspective. Without the support system that GHS provided to me, I would have continued struggling to find a college that I felt suits me and I would not be as confident in my college decision as I am today. Having this type of time and dedication put into me showed me the importance of the availability of quality resources. I have always wanted to start a non-profit organization for youth and GHS helped me figure out what I want my non-profit to be about. I want to start a non-profit organization that teaches youth the importance of planning ahead for college. My organization will be centered around adolescents in grades 9-12 and will provide them with the resources and support system needed to help them successfully transition from high school to college.
